Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026. This policy explains how Hilltops Ten Toes Down Nonprofit Charity Association collects, uses, and protects information.

Hilltops Ten Toes Down Nonprofit Charity Association (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of website visitors, program participants, volunteers, and donors. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through hilltopstentoesdownnonprofitassociationnfp.org and related official communications, including email to admin@hilltopstentoesdown.org.

1. Who We Are

We are a United States 501(c)(3) public charity. Our Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 93-2629418. Our principal place of operations and mailing address is 1723 South 8th St, Tacoma, WA 98405, United States. Our Principal Officer is Saconia. We operate community programs focused on family stabilization, career skills, and youth and senior outreach in the Tacoma area.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at admin@hilltopstentoesdown.org.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

  • Information you provide: name, email address, phone number, mailing address, donation amount and frequency preferences, program intake details, volunteer availability, and the content of messages you send through forms or email.
  • Donation and receipt records: gift date, amount, acknowledgment status, and related correspondence required for tax documentation and financial accountability.
  • Technical information: browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages visited, referral URLs, and timestamps. This data helps us maintain security and improve site usability.
  • Cookies and preference data: essential preference cookies (for example, cookie-consent acknowledgment) and, if enabled, analytics cookies described in Section 4.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website without verifiable parental consent. Youth program enrollment is handled through guardian-authorized intake.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries, program intake requests, and volunteer applications;
  • Process donation intents, issue tax receipts, and complete employer matching-gift verifications;
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website and digital communications;
  • Send newsletters or program updates when you have requested them;
  • Comply with IRS recordkeeping, charitable solicitation norms, and other legal obligations;
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent or trade donor lists. Service providers who help us host email, process invoices, or maintain records may process data only under instructions that protect confidentiality.

4. Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies: required for basic site functions such as remembering that you accepted this cookie notice. These cookies do not require consent beyond notice in many jurisdictions because they are strictly necessary.
  • Preference cookies: may store language or display preferences if added in future updates.
  • Analytics cookies: if Google Analytics or a similar tool is enabled, these cookies help us understand aggregate traffic patterns (popular pages, approximate geography, device categories).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality. Our on-site cookie banner allows you to acknowledge this notice; acceptance is stored locally in your browser.

5. Analytics & Google Advertising Compliance

If we use Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Google Ad Grants, data may be processed by Google according to Google’s policies. We configure analytics to support legitimate nonprofit measurement needs and to avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive content in page URLs whenever possible.

For Google Ad Grants and related advertising:

  • We strive to maintain a high-quality, content-rich website with clear navigation, working links, and an accessible privacy policy;
  • We do not use acquired phone numbers or deceptive conversion practices;
  • Landing pages accurately represent our 501(c)(3) status, EIN, mission, and contact information;
  • Users can opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google’s Ads Settings and industry tools such as the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

IP anonymization or comparable privacy-preserving settings will be enabled when supported by the analytics configuration we deploy.

6. Donor Privacy Guarantee

Donors are the lifeblood of our community work. We commit to the following:

  • We never sell or rent donor data to third parties for their marketing purposes.
  • Donor names and gift amounts are not published without permission, except where legally required or where a donor has requested public recognition.
  • Access to donor records is limited to board members and volunteers with a need to know for receipting, compliance, or stewardship.
  • You may request to be excluded from fundraising mail or email appeals while still receiving legally required tax acknowledgments.
  • Payment card details are not stored on this static website; when invoices are issued through PayPal, Stripe, or similar processors, those processors’ privacy policies also apply to payment data.

To update your donor preferences, email admin@hilltopstentoesdown.org with the subject line “Donor Privacy Request.”

7. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR & Similar Laws)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information we hold, or to object to particular processing. California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know categories of personal information collected and the right to request deletion, subject to legal exceptions (for example, retention of donation records required for tax compliance).

Individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we are a U.S.-based charity primarily serving Tacoma residents, our lawful bases for processing typically include legitimate interests in operating charitable programs, performance of requested services, and legal obligations related to tax and nonprofit compliance.

To exercise privacy rights, email admin@hilltopstentoesdown.org with “Privacy Rights Request” in the subject line and enough detail for us to verify your identity and locate your records. We will respond within a reasonable period consistent with applicable law.

8. Contact Information & Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when revisions are published. Material changes affecting donor privacy will be highlighted on this page or communicated by email when appropriate.
